All products are manufactured in accordance with any relevant Australian Standards. The Australian Standards, which are applicable to all window manufacturers in Australia are listed as follows:
Specifies requirements for materials, construction, installation and glazing for windows, sliding doors, adjustable glass louvres, shopfronts, and window walls with one-piece framing elements. As a supply only company, GEM products satisfy the requirements of the standard from a materials point of view, however it is up to the installer to insure that the Selection and Installation of the product also satisfies the standard’s requirements.
Specifies procedures for the selection of glass to comply with wind loading requirements and human impact considerations for framed and unframed glass assemblies of limited dimensions. The standard also includes installation guidelines and appendices for design of glass fins as well as the interpretation of human impact considerations and wind load design charts.
*Note: It is customer’s responsibility to ensure that the appropriate AS and BCA requirements are met when it comes to selection and installation of windows and doors being purchased from GEM. Such requirements may include but are not limited to: height restricted windows, wet area glazing, impact area glazing and others.
